Training in CompTIA A Plus Support – News

August 14th, 2009 by Scott Edwards

by Jason Kendall

The CompTIA A+ training program covers four areas of training; you’re thought of as A+ competent when you’ve passed the test for two of the four areas. This is why most training providers only have two of the courses on their syllabus. You’ll find that it’s necessary to have the training for all four areas as many jobs will demand knowledge and skills of the entire course. It isn’t necessary to take all four exams, although it would seem prudent that you at least have a working knowledge of every area.

Courses in A+ computer training are about fault finding and diagnosing – both remote access and hands-on, in addition to building computers and repairing them and operating in antistatic conditions. It could be a good idea to consider adding Network+ training to your A+ as you’ll then be in a position to look after networks of computers, which is where the bigger salaries are.

The area most overlooked by people thinking about a course is the concept of ‘training segmentation’. Basically, this means the breakdown of the materials for delivery to you, which completely controls the point you end up at. The majority of training companies will set up some sort of program spread over 1-3 years, and deliver each piece one-by-one as you pass each exam. If you think this sound logical, then consider this: What would their reaction be if you find it difficult to do each element at the required speed? Sometimes their preference of study order doesn’t come as naturally as some other structure would for you.

In a perfect world, you’d get ALL the training materials right at the beginning – so you’ll have them all to come back to in the future – whenever it suits you. Variations can then be made to the order that you complete your exams if another more intuitive route presents itself.

You have to be sure that all your accreditations are current and also valid commercially – forget courses that lead to in-house certificates. If the accreditation doesn’t feature a company like Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe or Cisco, then you’ll probably find it won’t be commercially viable – because it won’t give an employer any directly-useable skills.

You’ll come across courses which guarantee examination passes – inevitably that means paying for the exams before you’ve even made a start on the course. Before you jump at guaranteed exams, be aware of the facts:

You’ll be charged for it by some means. It certainly isn’t free – they’ve simply charged more for the whole training package. We all want to pass first time. Entering examinations one by one and paying as you go makes it far more likely you’ll pass first time – you revise thoroughly and are conscious of what you’ve spent.

Shouldn’t you be looking to hold on to your money and pay for the exam when you take the exam, instead of paying a premium to the college, and to do it locally – rather than in some remote centre? What’s the point in paying early for examinations when there’s absolutely nothing that says you have to? Huge profits are made by companies charging all their exam fees up-front – and banking on the fact that many won’t be taken. It’s also worth noting that many exam guarantees are worthless. Many training companies won’t pay for you to re-take until you can prove to them you’re ready to pass.

Due to typical VUE and Prometric tests in the United Kingdom costing around 112 pounds, by far the best option is to pay for them as you take them. There’s no sense in throwing away maybe a thousand pounds extra at the start of your studies. Study, commitment and preparing with good quality mock and practice exams is what will really guarantee success.

People attracted to this sort of work can be very practical by nature, and won’t enjoy sitting at a desk in class, and endless reading of dry academic textbooks. If you identify with this, use multimedia, interactive learning, with on-screen demonstrations and labs. Learning psychology studies show that long term memory is improved when all our senses are involved, and we take action to use what we’ve learned.

The latest home-based training features interactive discs. Instructor-led tutorials will mean you’ll take everything in through the expert demonstrations. Knowledge can then be tested by practicing and interacting with the software. Every company that you look at should willingly take you through some simple examples of the type of training materials they provide. You’re looking for evidence of tutorial videos and demonstrations and a variety of interactive modules.

Select actual CD or DVD ROM’s whenever you can. This then avoids all the potential pitfalls with the variability of broadband quality and service.

Trainees hopeful to build an Information Technology career usually haven’t a clue what direction is best, or which market to get certified in. Flicking through long lists of different and confusing job titles is a complete waste of time. Surely, most of us don’t even know what the neighbours do for a living – so we have no hope of understanding the subtleties of a particular IT career. The key to answering this quandary correctly comes from an in-depth talk over several different topics:

* Personality factors as well as your interests – which work-oriented areas you enjoy or dislike.

* What length of time can you allocate for your training?

* How important is salary to you – is it of prime importance, or is day-to-day enjoyment further up on the scale of your priorities?

* Learning what the main job types and sectors are – including what sets them apart.

* It’s wise to spend some time thinking about any sacrifices you’ll need to make, as well as what commitment and time that you will set aside for your training.

In these situations, your only option to research these issues is through a chat with an advisor or professional that has a background in Information Technology (and specifically it’s commercial requirements.)

Why Is Focus Important In The Job Application Process?

August 14th, 2009 by Glenn Hughes

by Glenn Hughes

Focus, a simple word but very much understood. This short article focuses (there’s that word again) on focus in the context of a job application. Finding the right Job for you is very important as it affects every single facet of your life. If ever there was a time when you need intense focus, it is in the context of finding a job

The definition of focus is a very personal one. Deciding to make the right career choice is the first step. Focus on making sure that you make every resource available to you and resolve to use every thing and every body that you can find.

Feeling angry about the events that led to your losing a previous job role can seriously hurt your prospects of getting the best job role for you. Anger shows up in your writing and you can be sure that your CV will get rejected if you are angry when you write it. If you cannot be objective, consider employing the services of a professional CV writer

Your tone of voice will come over in your job application. Women particularly are very sensitive to this and you cannot allow your feelings of anger or resentment to show themselves up in your CV. No employer want to employ someone who is carrying baggage, you need to focus your attention to revise your CV until you are sure that your CV is absolutely positive in all aspects

Being focused helps you create your ideal CV. You need to set aside a day to get it sorted out. Research and collate all your past achievements, no matter small, going through your whole career. Pay more attention to your most recent career as that is by far the most relevant. An employer is interested in whilst you can do for them

The things that you have done for previous employers, i.e. your achievements are one of the most powerful things to include in a CV. Achievements separate yourself from the other candidates. Focusing your CV on responsibilities is a major mistake, employers expect you to carry out your job responsibilities- it is what you are paid for. To show yourself as extraordinary, list your responsibilities

Your CV should show you to be an extraordinary person. Employing the service of a professional CV writer can certainly help you, and there are several good books on the subject. The point is that maintaining a serious focus on your CV and job application will make you stand out from the rest of the candidates and that is exactly what you need to be focused on

Thinking About Adobe CS4 Design Training – News

August 12th, 2009 by Jason Kendall

by Jason Kendall

With an abundance of computer study programs available, it can be mind-boggling to know what to look for. Select one that’s in line with your character and abilities, and that will be a useful asset in the workforce. You can choose from user skills courses, or take a career track and specialise. User-friendly courses will help you achieve the goals you set yourself.

The latest training methods at last give students the chance to learn on a new style of course, that costs far less than traditional courses. The great value of such training programs puts them within everyone’s reach.

Adding in the cost of exams upfront then giving it ‘Exam Guarantee’ status is a popular marketing tool with many companies. Consider the facts:

We all know that we’re still paying for it – it’s not so hard to see that it’s been added into the full cost of the package supplied by the training company. Certainly, it’s not a freebie (it’s just marketing companies think we’ll fall for anything they say!) It’s well known in the industry that when students fund their own exams, one after the other, they will be much more likely to pass every time – as they’ll be conscious of their payment and will therefore apply themselves appropriately.

Take your exams as locally as possible and look for the very best offer you can at the time. A lot of extra profit is secured by a number of companies who get money for exam fees in advance. Many students don’t take them for one reason or another and so the company is quids-in. Amazingly, providers exist that depend on students not taking their exams – as that’s where a lot of their profit comes from. Remember, with the majority of Exam Guarantees – you are not in control of when you are allowed to do a re-take. They’ll only allow a re-take once completely satisfied.

Exam fees averaged around the 112 pounds mark in the last 12 months through Prometric or VUE centres around the United Kingdom. So don’t be talked into shelling out hundreds or thousands of pounds more to get ‘an Exam Guarantee’, when it’s no secret that the responsible approach is consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software.

Any program that you’re going to undertake really needs to work up to a nationally accepted exam at the end – not a useless ‘in-house’ printed certificate to hang in your hallway. Only properly recognised examinations from the likes of Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco and CompTIA will mean anything to employers.

The world of information technology is amongst the most thrilling and changing industries to be involved in today. Being a member of a team working on breakthroughs in technology is to do your bit in the gigantic changes that will affect us all over the next generation. We’ve barely started to get a feel for how technology is going to shape our lives. The internet will massively transform the way we see and interrelate with the world as a whole over the coming decades.

The standard IT technician in the UK can demonstrate that they receive significantly more money than his or her counterpart in much of the rest of the economy. Average wages are hard to beat nationally. There is a significant country-wide demand for trained and qualified IT technicians. Also, as the industry constantly develops, it looks like there will be for the significant future.

Most trainers typically provide a shelf full of reference manuals. Obviously, this isn’t much fun and not a very good way of achieving retention. Studies in learning psychology have shown that long term memory is improved when we use all our senses, and we take action to use what we’ve learned.

Start a study-program in which you’ll get a host of CD and DVD based materials – you’ll begin by watching videos of instructors demonstrating the skills, and then have the opportunity to fine-tune your skills in fully interactive practice sessions. Make sure to obtain a demonstration of the study materials from the school that you’re considering. The materials should incorporate slide-shows, instructor-led videos and virtual practice lab’s for your new skills.

It’s usually bad advice to choose training that is only available online. With highly variable reliability and quality from all internet service providers, you should always obtain CD or DVD ROM based materials.

You should look for an authorised exam preparation system included in your course. Because a lot of examination boards in IT are American, you must be prepared for the way exams are phrased. It’s no use simply understanding random questions – it’s essential that you can cope with them in the proper exam format. It’s a good idea to have some simulated exam questions so you’ll be able to verify your understanding along the way. Simulations of exams log the information in your brain – then the real thing isn’t quite as scary.

Will Power Can Cure Panic Attacks

August 12th, 2009 by Sheryl Bocelli

by John Knight

Take a paradigm shift towards positivity and you can cure panic attacks. It is truly important to be optimistic for extreme anxiety often leads to a mistaken notion of a heart attack. Panic is an internal feeling that is brought about by anxiety and this emotion can be controlled by your will power. Entertaining the fear that you are going to experience another undesirable emotion is making you anxious which can make you panicky.

Negativity is just a mental condition and this can be suppressed if you do not entertain pessimistic ideas. Be genuinely happy without any negative emotions or thoughts. Focus on something that can make you more productive and become a better and happy individual.

If you fear you might stop breathing because your chest feels tight and your breathing is erratic, then you might really stop breathing. Take a deep breath using your nostrils and exhale through your mouth. That will provide enough oxygen to your brain and lungs and can relax your heart. Fears are negative emotions. It is normal to feel fear sometimes but not most of the time for it will lead to emotional breakdowns.

Use the power of your mind for positive thinking and eradicate negative notions. If ever you feel nervous and afraid you might lose control or go insane then erase the thought at once. Take a deep breath again as in the method above and divert your focus on something positive. It is just in your mind and you can control it with your mind.

Help yourself for 99% cure is in you. A good clinical help will be very effective for you, yet you are the greatest factor that can help yourself for nobody can control your mind. An expert psychiatrist can put you on some good sessions for relaxation while in the clinic, but as soon as you are out you are on your own to cure panic attacks.
