How To Strike It Rich Using Publicity Strategies & Success Principles

March 8th, 2010 by Annie Jennings

Is there a secret to success? Is there more than one? Yes! Let’s find out what successful people, consultants and business pros believe and do that help them achieve their optimal potential. What is it that they have in common, whether its in their beliefs or in their actions that makes them successful? First of all they use resources available to them including publicity, self-promotion, branding and marketing to create their outstanding advantage in the marketplace. The rest comes naturally. The major opportunities go to the ones who are visible, making a difference, seen and heard by their target market.

Want success? Get ready to take action and take responsibility for your own achievements. Keep in mind that people are only limited by their committment to their success and their knowledge how to make it happen. You can have tons of committment but without the knowledge on how to get the things you want you will only be half-baked. People who make it big know this and never stop learning new strategies. They are ready to invest in their learning, both in time and money as they know they are their best investments. To make it in business, one of the secrets is to create a set of services and a business model that is optimized to deliver the outcome your target clients want to buy. To be successful, you need to pursue it each and every day, all day long.

Stand ready to showcase your talent and knowledge. As you know, your clients and target clients love to feel certainty in their decisions and feel that they are making the perfect choice when they hire you. When you let them sample your knowledge by showcasing your talent via media outreach, newsletters and your website, your clients feel great about hiring you. It is not about how much you cost, but what you can deliver with certainty.

Don’t be afraid to give the good stuff in your commentary and content. What you say and how you say it is how you will be evaluated. If you pack your publicity, interviews, events, websites, newsletters and marketing materials with high quality information you will be thought of as experienced, talents and smart. Always be accountable to yourself and blame no one for your failures. Keep in mind that you are in control of yourself. No one else can create sustainable success for you.

Enjoy yourself! Listen to your intuition, your instinct and your feelings. If something seems wrong to you, don’t do it. If your gut says yes, go for it. Consistency over time yields the best results. Take action, do it everyday and watch your success roll in!

Three Essential Must Know Publicity And Book Promotion Media Strategy Tips

January 3rd, 2010 by Annie Jennings

Many authors and experts would like to enjoy publicity and media exposure. To optimize your ability to secure publicity, book promotion and expert status media opportunities, you will need to create the publicity tools that support your media outreach. These tools include creating an author expert media website where the media can find out all about your and your book or message and how to use testimonials that discuss your expertise and professionalism. Also important is your ability to tie your message and commentary into the news of the day. Media training is another essential tool for authors and experts so that you will understand how the media works and be ready when they call you for an interview

Book authors and experts can create a powerful and effective media and publicity strategy. However, to do so, the author or expert will need to understand the basics of publicity and media strategy so they can create the most relevant publicity outcome.

One of the publicity tools is to create a website especially for the media. This website should showcase what the media needs to know about you. The author expert media site includes information about yourself, your book and includes additional material such as your professional photo, a demo video of a previous media experience, your media bio that links to any media coverage you may have secured, your professional bio that showcases your education, experience, credentials and accomplishments. Testimonals are important too so be sure to use the ones from influential sources as they will empower you as well.

Become a socially relevant book author & expert. Know how to tie yourself & your book’s messages into the news of the day. Be sure to blog on news events being covered by TV or other print media and internet sites. The blogging helps you create a working knowledge of the new of the day. Apply your knowledge and pack your blog posts with content as this helps develop your thoughts and creates expert status.

Get comfortable speaking to the media and sharing your thoughts by getting some practice and training before you get started with your pubicity strategy. Media training is the key to being ready to speak to the media in a way the positively showcase your talent and expertise. You’ll want to show the media that you are media savvy, professional and are able to discuss your commentary with them.

It’s easy to create the publicity tools you will need for your success. Knowing what you will need in advance will help you avoid the publicity and promotion mistakes and enjoy an effective and powerful media outreach.

Personal Communication Is Critical to Deterring Rumors and Soothing Employee Concerns

November 30th, 2009 by Marty Dickinson

If you want to dispel the anxiety growing in your workplace, build a foundation of trust built on communication. When times are tough, the workplace rumor mill swings into action act quickly. Therefore, managers need to communicate openly and honestly with employees to stop rumors in their tracks. Here are five tips to help managers ease employee anxiety.

1. Be Accessible

As a senior leader, you need to be accessible and visible to your employees. When there is a problem, don’t wait until all the details of the solution have been fleshed out before informing your workers. Instead, inform them of your progress along the way as the decisions are being made. In uncertain times, it is more important than ever to be accessible. You’re not just there to share information with the workforce, but to build trust with them along the way, and dispel rumors as they spring up.

2. Don’t Hide From Bad News

Your employees know that times are challenging and that the company will need to evolve in order to be successful, so you have no reason to keep bad news from your workforce. It will become even harder to communicate with a distrustful workforce if you try to imply that all is well when it obviously is not. Keeping your employees in the loop and informing them as soon as you know changes are necessary is the best antidote for workplace gossip. When a workforce has faith in their management, they will trust they will heard bad news from the source and stop spreading rumors amongst themselves.

3. Stress Face to Face Communication

All too often, leaders communicate bad news via e-mails and memos. All leaders are busy, but your first priority must be the productivity of your workforce. Research has shown that face-to-face or voice-to-voice conversations build up trust in a relationship and also improve the clarity of your message. You may find yourself stumped by a question that you didn’t expect, but don’t worry. Your people don’t expect you to be perfect, but they will appreciate the time you took to talk to them.

4. Hear Your Employees

The two-way conversation in face-to-face communication is a huge advantage. Many employees will be able to give you solid suggestions to resolve the challenges the company faces, but this is not the only advantage to listening to your workforce. The mere knowledge that senior management values their ideas and reactions to the situation enough to listen and speak with them can propel your employees to re-commit to the company and to you as a manager.

5. Admit You Don’t Have All the Answers Yet

It is important to be honest when talking to your employees, both about what you know and about what is still unknown. Because people understand that no-one can know everything, it will build conviction and understanding if you can detail what is still unclear. If you are unsure about the future, it is better to discuss the prospects for the company and probabilities for success rather than making promises that might not be kept.

Communication is the foundation of a good management team, and the only way you will get your employee’s best performance. Above all else, make it a priority to communicate truthfully, candidly, and without hesitation.
