Think Outside The Box; Uncommon Opportunities

September 3rd, 2010 by Rob M

Before the recession I spent 11 years in the residential homebuilding industry. I say this so that you understand I was doing the same thing for a long time. In the BCR time (Before Current Recession), this was a good thing. Time in an industry was synonomus with experience. Experience gave a person a wealth of knowledge to draw from.Knowledge prepared that individual to adapt in times of change or crisis.

Here’s the catch;

Those skills of adaptation, that knowledge, the experience that took years to accumulate became worthless overnight. What good is experience, when the industry that you worked in ceased to exist? What good is knowledge when the framework that it is based on has been torn asunder? Even worse, the skills and experience of the past become a plasticized skin, a mold that rigidly wants to maintain its shape. In short, the past makes you resistant to change.

But somewhere within that mold lies our greatest strength. Adaptation. There is within each of us the ability to change. We cannot forget the past, but we can let it go. We can take our experience and our knowledge and use tem to shape our future.

The next question is what do we do now? Initially I tried to stay within construction, but I realized that it was necessary to look farther afield. In my searches I have found a few opportunities but every now and again, something comes up taht makes me take notice.

Whenever I can find good work that does not force me to spend thousands of dollars in materials or training and allows me to use skills that are common to us all, I will share them with you. I am looking for myself and I will include you in my quest.

Look at This! This article, Think Outside The Box; Uncommon Opportunities is available for free reprint.

Looking To Hire? Hire A Middle Man

August 31st, 2010 by Azwar Khalid

When it comes time to hire executive members of your staff, there are a number of different routes you can go. There is the standard newspaper ad, or you can place an ad online. You can also talk to your business associates both within your company and out of your company to see if they know anyone that would meet the qualifications for the position. Or you can chose the most successful route, retaining an executive recruitment service.

Executive recruitment services are also known as headhunters. When using an executive recruitment service, you will be provided with only the candidates that meet specific job description requirements as well as the list of qualifications you have provided. If you are looking to hire senior level personnel or executive level management, retaining a qualified and successful executive recruitment service is the best option.

There is a great deal of advantages in using these services. For many companies the confidentiality of executive recruitment services is bar none. In taking advantage of the privacy structure, unless you make it publicly known, only a select few will be aware if you are hiring for a certain position within your company. An adept recruiter will come with the experience and savvy to ask the right questions so they will understand the climate in your business, therefore finding you the best individuals to add to your team.

Executive recruitment services are also research experts. While in a perfect world it would simply take a few phone calls to get your perfect candidate, that simply isn’t enough today. The truth is that headhunters spend hours not only calling candidates but scheduling interviews and meetings plus doing any needed travel to meet with you and/or the potential candidates as well as taking care of the paperwork. Believe it or not, the right firm will be able to find you an ideal candidate in the matter of a week or two. The point is that it does take time, time that you won’t have to spend if you have executive recruitment services at your disposal.

Recruiters always work with an ample amount of contacts. Executive recruitment services keep a database of the cream of the crop when it comes to candidates of all levels and industries. Specialized headhunters know the market and they possess an amazing ability to tap into it. What many do not know, is quite often recruiters get their leads from individuals who are believe or not, are not in the market.

These are just some of the few benefits of using a recruiter when seeking to hire a senior staff member. Because of the impeccable and invaluable service that executive recruitments services offer, many companies solely hire from head hunters. Before hiring one of these firms, it always pays to do research. Not all recruiting firms and individuals come with the same amount of education, experience, success and personality traits needed to find ideal candidates. You can always ask your business associates if they know any recruiters with a consistent track record. Once you find a company or individual who can assist with your hiring needs, you may never go back to the old way of hiring again.

If you are interested to hire Senior management positions do not hesitate to contact an Executive Recruitment Services if you want to get on contact with us Click Here

August 24th, 2010 by Amanda Rice

Impossible Times: Inspiration to Help Find A Job

Some people are very ambitious and want to aim for a higher position right from the start. Other people, however, realize that sometimes you have to start from the bottom up. In other words, somebody who’s looking to start off a career many times needs to start with an entry-level position. From there, they learned the basics and fundamental principles of the workplace, interaction with coworkers, and learning to get along with your boss and upper management.

In order to get to the stage, a person has to start off with the beginning type of job. This is usually a job that does not require marketable skills, and very little expertise in order to get started.

Since these jobs do not require specialized skills, the salaries are usually very low, and many times require physical labor or field work.

Often entry-level jobs since they are low skilled and do not include insurance from the workplace and pay a very low hourly rate. This means that if a person were to get into an accident outside of the workplace, many times the employer will not cover the additional expenses from the accident.

Part-time work is a frequent aspect of entry-level jobs. Jobs such as receptionists, fast food workers, cleaning jobs, construction jobs, work at retail stores and other similar jobs are all examples of entry-level work.

While it is true that entry-level jobs do not pay much, they should not be ignored. many people in high-paying jobs started off with low-paying entry-level jobs.

Often times college graduates, who began higher paying jobs immediately after graduation, were found to be bored from their work. They also felt that there was no room available for them to grow personally, or to advance in their career.

Entry-level jobs are the stepping-stone to success in careers. So, for people who wish to grow and be promoted to a higher position, here are some tips that they can use:
