Firstly soak the affected area for at least seven days and this will result into detaching of moss from its place very quickly. Use of a suitable brush on the wet surface will also help to clean your roof. This is known as brush and hose method.

The best way to clean your roof is named as power washing method. Apply the roof cleaning product and allow it to dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Since moss is quite slippery and thus drying up of the solution provides a good grip. Now wash the roof with thoroughly with water. This will in turn wash off the moss.

Sodium hydroxide is the chemical that is most often used for the removal of strong streaks and preventing the growth of moss and lichens. This method of roof cleaning is very effective in maintaining the strength and appearance of your roof. But excessive use of such chemicals can can be harmful and thus effective measures should be taken while using.

Chlorine for that matter is more advantageous since the complete process consumes less time comparatively. Moreover the removal of dust particles, dirt, moss and lichens can be easily acquired since it requires less rinsing.

Roof cleaning not only extend the life of your roofs and home but saves your money also. Roof cleaning is much more cheaper than roof replacement.

However the chemicals used for cleaning the roof have adverse effects too but are minimal and temporary and thus should be repeated within 6 to 18 months to maintain the appearance of the roof..
